While Power Line technology works great at piping Internet connections throughout a home, the Music Tap MT-01 offers a first as it utilizes the same concept to deliver music via an existing electrical wiring system and power sockets. Also known as the Power Line Sound System, you can now enjoy music from anywhere in your home as long as there is a power socket nearby. Slated for a mid-July release, the Music Tap MT-01 retails for ¥70,000 and comes with a pair of 25W speakers and a single 5W speaker which can be placed anywhere around the house. The smaller speaker even boasts a motion sensor that strikes up a tune whenever it detects any nearby movement, and I suspect that is more of an annoyance than a good thing.
