Powercast looking into wireless charging

Virtually everyone has learnt to live with power cords and cables as it is an inevitable part of any electronic item. Powercast hopes to change that in the near future by utilizing radio wave technology to transfers RF energy to a device. While this idea is not entirely new, Powercast’s patented method enables the device to harvest around 40% to 60% more of the energy transmitted when compared to traditional methods by using the 900MHz band. This is still no substitute for a conventional charger, but it works great to trickle charge a host of household electronics over time. A good example would be house clocks utilizing this technology so you no longer have to worry about dead batteries.
