R2-D2 powered by steam

With thousands of hardcore Star Wars fans around the globe, it is inevitable that somebody toys with the idea of building a life-sized R2-D2. CrabFu has apparently taken a whole lot of time and effort to create this replica of everybody’s favorite astromech droid, endowing it with some good old fashioned steam power for movement’s sake. Unfortunately, steam doesn’t do that much for such a heavy droid, making R2-D2 move as fast as your regular garden snail. It just makes me wonder – what do the droids in the entire Star Wars universe run on? A miniature nuclear reactor like those found in T-800s?
