WillCOM Japan has unveiled a concept cellphone that doubles up as a torchlight during emergencies, and is a device which is more relevant in disaster prone countries such as Japan. This concept is powered by a couple of D batteries and comes with a W-SIM card cradle that provides wireless communication once an appropriate W-SIM card is slotted inside. No idea on how long the D batteries will be able to last, so make sure you have a healthy supply of spares sitting beside this concept. Hopefully this idea will take flight and be realized as it could be instrumental in saving lives during an emergency.
