NewerTech has released its USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter that turns an internal SATA drive into an external USB drive with some pixie dust and gypsy incantations. I’m kidding, what the adapter does is transform the SATA connector into that of a USB 2.0 connector. Of course, you will notice that the SATA drive will run way below its potential with the USB adapter in between, but that’s the price to pay for interconnectivity. Do take note that the majority of external hard drives on the market also use SATA Drives inside the enclosure. The USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter retails for $24.95.
