Kyocera Wireless demonstrated prototype handsets and devices that take advantage of the Visa mobile platform utilizing Near Field Communication (NFC) technology at the recently concluded CTIA ’07. This technology automatically turns any cellphone into a Visa payment solution, making it easier for you to spend your money wherever you go. It also reduces the risk of credit card fraud in case your wallet gets stolen, but you do have to be extra vigilant with your cellphone from now on. There is no word on when Visa will roll out this service worldwide, but rest assured it is very near to maturity.
