We have seen the iZ3D monitor at work for desktop gamers, but notebook manufacturers will probably include widescreen 3D displays sometime later this year or in 2008. While 3D panels in notebooks will decrease battery life further and reduce the brightness levels (not to mention adding more bulk to a notebook), notebook vendors in the US are willing to pay that price in order to cater to the hardcore gamer market who need their gaming fix while on the move. I’m not too sure whether such a niche market will be profitable, considering the projected shorter battery life and the inability for everyone to adapt to a 3D display on-the-fly.
