Apple has managed to successfully patent an anti-theft safeguard for gizmos such as notebooks, cellphones, and others using technology that senses the outside world. This technology analyzes the movement of the device over a set amount of time, which means the device can tell (in theory, at least) the difference between a thief and the owner. An accelerator within and the right software will be able to implement this idea succsesfully, causing the device to trigger an alarm or locked out should any suspicious activity be detected. Does that mean my future iPod gets locked out whenever I board a plane or rollercoaster and undergo the exhilaration of sudden acceleration?
