Urinary incontinence is an inconvenience to say the least, but the AssureFlow concept device aims to make that condition manageable, putting you in control of your bladder instead of the other way round. This device acts as a manually switchable on-off tap for the bladder, making it a suitable device for those with weak bladders as well as others who lack the normal level of control. An internal valve will be implanted in the patient’s urethra, and a handheld actuator utilizes inductive heat to operate the valve. Hopefully this design makes it into the real world sooner rather than later.
