With its new ultra-fast video server, Sun plans to revolutionise the IP TV world and by the same token, put Blockbuster and Netflix out of business, said Andy Bechtolsheim, Sun’s co-founder and Google’s early investor. Subscribers to service providers, most likely telecom operators, using the Sun Fire x4950 server will be able to access all the catalogue of movies Hollywood produced so far, if they eventually open up their kimono, that is!
