While digital camcorders are useful devices to have around in parties, holidays, and other social events, they certainly aren’t light enough to lug around comfortably. Canon hopes to change that by releasing the DC50 digital camcorder that weighs less than half a kilogram – 480 grams to be exact. This handheld digital camcorder comes with the all-important optical image stabilizer, a 5.0 megapixel CCD sensor, Dolby Digital sound, DVD-R DL support, and Digic DV. Pricing and availability details are currently unknown.
