Webcams are pretty mundane items, but once in a while a webcam comes along to gets you drooling. The Creative Live! Cam Optia AF definitely falls in that category, featuring a “true 2-megapixel sensor and Live! View technology for sharp, HD-resolution video.” While that sounds good on paper, past experiences with other webcams show that anything higher than 800 x 600 won’t give you an exactly smooth viewing experience, but I’m sure there are exceptions around. Another strength of the $130 Creative Live! Cam Optia AF is doing away with the need for driver installation – this is truly a Plug-n-Play device. Other features include auto focus, auto tuning, dual adaptive array microphones, and compatibility with most Windows video chat applications.
