E Ink renews tech with Vizplex

E Ink has recently refreshed its electronic ink technology that is guaranteed to wow even the general layman. Known as Vizplex, this renewed technology offers vastly superior specifications when compared to previous iterations of E Ink imaging film technologies. For example, the typical switch speed is nearly halved to 740ms from 1,200ms previously and the peak switch speed (monochrome) ranks at 260ms compared to 500ms on its predecessor. Brightness has also increased to 40% while greyscale levels have been doubled to 8. New TFT modules based on Vizplex will be manufactured in time for a summer release, with sizes ranging from 1.9″, 5″, 6″, 8″, and 9.7″.
