Transferring your entire CD library into MP3 format can be a painstaking and time consuming task, especially when you have 80GB worth of hard drive space on your iPod to fill up. The iLoad device takes its design cues from the Mac mini and rips audio from CDs (and subsequently DVDs) to transfer them to your iPod without going through all the hassle on a computer. The iLoad enables you to choose selected tracks to be copied, ripping quality, and the ability to download artist and track info as well as album covers over a network. Compatible with 3G iPods upwards, the iLoad also doubles up as a backup device that stores your iPod’s content on an external hard drive or even another iPod. The jury is out on whether this is worth 299 clams or not.
