LG patents iPod washing machine

Surely the folks at LG were a little drunk when they filed a patent for a “home appliance with MP3 player” – essentially a washing machine that comes with a dock for both the iPod and Zune portable media players. Not only that, you get what resembles a powerline networking adapter and a USB port to tack on other devices to your washing machine. I’m not sure whether anyone wants to enjoy music by the washing machine with all the racket it makes, and don’t forget the hard drive on your iPod Video will probably take a beating not even 5 minutes into a wash cycle with all those vibrations. Water and electronics hardly mix well, so I think I’ll pass on this one.
