The local police in the U.K. are currently putting the Microdrone on trial, a device that helps monitor suspects located below as it flies around the vicinity, using the built-in CCTV camera as its eyes. An officer on the ground will control the Microdrone, but he must be wearing a special visor in order to see what the Microdrone sees. Statistics show that there is a CCTV camera for every 14 people in the U.K. (which is surprisingly high), so having a few of these bobbing up and down the skies won’t really make any difference. I just didn’t realize that we have to be policed more when it comes to reducing the chance for a crime to occur. Pretty ironic, ain’t it?
