Philips launch LED backlit LCD TVs

Philips has recently unveiled a trio of LED-backlit LCD TVs, and they come in 42″, 47″, and 52″ models. All three will come with the Ambilight tag, which means you get dynamically changing colored lights behind the display that supposedly is able to match the mood in a movie, only if that movie supports the technology. Not only that, you get a refresh rate of 120Hz that works great for those who survive on action movies as their staple diet. Looks like LCD TVs are slowly but surely migrating toward LED-backlit technology for superior picture quality. The 42″, 47″, and 52″ models will retail for $2,799, $2,999, and $3,999 respectively.
