RFID and WiFi to track people, objects

Keeping track of students and patients at schools and hospitals can be quite a formidable task, which is why Siemens is currently pushing a complete system that can track both objects and people within a wireless network, thanks to the synergy created by blending both the functions of RFID tags and WiFi connectivity. Sounds pretty interesting and could be a potential life saver in the event of an emergency or fire, but there is an uncomfortable feeling attached while wearing the RFID tag as one would feel being watched all the time. While having students wear this in school could reduce the number of truant cases, I seriously doubt that they would welcome such a system with open arms.
