Sony debuts dye-sublimation printers

Sony has recently launched the DPP-FP90 and DPP-FP70 printers which will be able to output a high resolution print within 45 seconds. That is an extremely fast for a non-laser printer. Both printers come with Sony’s proprietary image processing engine called Bionz which can support 48M high resolution image quality. Meant to be used with a digital camera minus a computer acting as the middleman, the DPP-FP90 and DPP-FP70 come with 3.6″ and 2.5″ LCD displays respectively, enabling you to touch up your photos before printing. Additional features include superimposing notes on photos and a special coating option that maintains color integrity long after you’ve kicked the bucket.
