Toshiba has just dropped the ball on a couple of Qosmio G40 and F40 laptops that will be powered by Intel’s new Santa Rosa platform, but these will only be available in Japan. The G40 is a pure multimedia beast, featuring a 17″ WUXGA display, dual 160GB hard drives, an HD DVD drive, HDMI output, a 4-in-1 memory card reader, a 2 megapixel camera, and up to 4GB of RAM. The F40 on the other hand, comes with souped down specifications, lacking the HD DVD drive and a dual hard drive setup while maintaining the same 4-in-1 memory card reader. The Qosmio G40 and F40 will retail for $3,500 and $2,100 respectively.
