AU Optronics show off new LCD panel

AU Optronics has recently unveiled its new 2.2″ TFT LCD that lays claim to having the slimmest border in the world, measuring a mere 0.9mm on both the left and right sides, making that a half size smaller than products in the market today. Not only that, the upper side border width has also be reduced to a mere 1.2mm. With display technology improving constantly, I am still waiting for the day where a TFT LCD can be viewed under direct sunlight without looking washed out. There is no word on when this new LCD panel will be used in consumer electronics, but it can never be too soon
