Biotex monitors health via fabrics

Scientists in Europe are currently collaborating to develop clothing which they hope will be able to monitor your health status dynamically. These so-called “intelligent textitles” will come with sensors built-in that monitor body fluids such as sweat and blood, with the ultimate aim being to check on various groups such as recovering hospital patients, injured athletes, and those with chronic illnesses, greatly easing the burden of nurses and caregivers at the hospital. Dubbed the Biotex program, a prototype multi-sensor is near completion as the group looks for volunteers next. Sounds like a practical way to collect medical data to me, and when expounded, this could be used to keep track of battlefield injuries.
