The Fujitsu Lifebook U1010 was recently launched in Korea, adding yet another UMPC to the market there. This diminutive-sized notebook measures a mere 5.6″ (screen size) and comes in a thickness of just 26.5mm. It is powered by the Intel Ultra Mobile Platform 2007 and comes equipped with an integrated keyboard light (presumably to type in the dark), a fingerprint recognition sensor, and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). The screen is a touch sensitive display, so you can now doodle electronically during those long and boring corporate meetings. The Fujitsu U1010 will be available for approximately $1,390. I personally don’t find UMPCs practical as they feel as if they’re neither here nor there during use, but different strokes for different folks I guess.
