As if we don’t have more than enough memory card standards to contend with, the MultiMedia Card Association has recently approved the miCard (Multiple Interface Card) that is compatible with USB and MMC slots. Performance wise, the miCard does sound impressive in theory – featuring transfer rate of up to 480Mbps and a maximum storage of 8GB. Currently, a dozen companies have already backed this format and they are A-Data Technology Inc., Asustek Computer Inc., BenQ Corp., Carry Computer Eng. Co., C-One Technology Corp., DBTel Inc., Power Digital Card Co. and RiChip Inc. Looks like there will be new 60-in-1 memory card readers looming in the horizon soon if the memory card madness does not let up. Heavy duty users would be pleased to know the expected maximum capacity is a whopping 2TB. Yes, go ahead and pick your jaw off the floor now.
