Mobile Protector not so protective

It is high noon, and you have a showdown with your boss. What better way to whip out your cellphone than from the Mobile Protector? This metal cage is hooked to your belt loop, cradling your precious cellphone inside it. I presume it protects your handset from being crushed when you accidentally bump into a corner of a table, but then again there is no protection against nicks and scratches. Doesn’t really make sense to carry one of these around, and at $25, it isn’t the smartest purchase on the block. Most people would probably ask why are you carrying a mouse trap on your belt loop anyway.
