Philips has unveiled the SJM3151 universal remote control that is compatible with the iPod, giving you the ability to control your iPod directly when it is hooked up to a home audio system (presumably replacing the remote that came with that iPod speaker dock in the first place) as well as a wide range of other electronic products throughout your home. Features include an integrated LCD display that mirrors a docked iPod, and the ability to wield power over TV, cable/satellite box, DVD player, and AV receiver using infrared. Communication with the iPod is done via Zigbee RF wireless standard at distances up to 300 feet. The Philips SJM3151 is tipped to appear in stores this fall for approximately $180.
