Philips has seen the Apple TV in action and hopes to outdo it by unveiling some sort of Apple TV-like device at Computex 2007. It looks more or less like an Apple TV encased within a brushed aluminum box and streams both audio and video from a network drive, albeit doing it wirelessly for a tangle free experience. In addition, it has the added advantage of an HDMI port and an optical digital audio output. Too bad you can’t make full use of its HDMI port with the pathetic 40GB hard drive inside. Philips has also kept its offering’s interface under wraps for the moment.
