The Scroll cellphone concept from Yun Liang is pretty interesting, taking inspiration from traditional Chinese paintings that must be unfurled before viewing. Whenever you need to access data within the phone, you will need to roll out the scroll, but numeric key functions can be performed otherwise. The advent of flexible displays are definitely a good sign, since it signifies the fact that devices such as the Scroll cellphone can be a reality sometime in the near future, although the idea might not sound too practical. I mean, nothing beats taking a solid phone in my hand and pressing the “Answer” button, right? I see no point reinventing the wheel here.
