Sharp has extended its support of powerline networking by unveiling a couple of adapters known as the HN-VA10S and HN-VA40S. Both adapters support the HomePlug 1.1 standard, letting users connect to each other at a maximum speed of 85Mbps minus the need for wireless or Ethernet connectivity. Protection against malicious hackers is provided via 128-bit AES data encryption. Would you rather go for a Powerline or wireless solution at home? After all, it can safely be said that most, if not all, computers and notebooks used at home are already connected to a power outlet so why not synergize instead? The VA10S (one Ethernet port) and VA40S (four Ethernet ports) will go on sale this August 24th for $161 and $193 respectively in Japan.
