
SIM technology might have looked doomed for some time now, but it has just received a breath of fresh air with what could possibly be the next killer application – a complete GPS navigation system embedded within a SIM card. Blue Sky Positioning has achieved this feat, cramming everything in a GPS navigation system, including its antenna, into a SIM card. There is no word on pricing, but production samples will roll out next month. Guess smartphones are well poised to receive this new SIM card in the future, adding to their already comprehensive functionality.
