Computers are pretty fragile stuff, and they often fall prey to the victims of dust, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, and electro-magnetic interference. Tangent’s Rugged Mini Fanless PC laughs at all those hazards mentioned in the face as it was designed to withstand all of those. This was made possible by eliminating the standard hard drive, with a Compact Flash drive in place instead. The Mini Fanless PC weighs a mere 4 pounds and consumes only 44 watts of power in full use. It is powered by Windows XP Pro and an Intel processor. At $1,195, the specifications sure are spartan but at least you have a hardy computer at your disposal.
