Toshiba has just dropped the SD-L912A HD DVD-RW drive for notebooks, but that isn’t the only good news. The best thing about the SD-L912A is its thickness of a mere 0.5″, making it take the slimmest crown at the same time. Too bad the performance does not match up to it’s looks, with a snail-like 1x read/write speed at the moment. Early adopters can pick the Toshiba SD-L912A when it is released this July, although if you wait longer, faster drives are bound to appear on the horizon.
