Turtle Beach has taken the contents of a physical surround sound system and miniaturized them into a pair of headphones, with the result being the Ear Force AK-R8 headphones. Each earpiece proudly comes with a dedicated sub driver in addition to individual center, front, and surround sound drivers for authentic reproduction of 5.1 channels of audio. While the AK-R8 can be plugged into a computer with a sound card via USB, the presence of an S/PDIF adapter lets you hook it up to your stereo as well. No doubt the music produced will be loud with eight drivers in total, but will you really experience the full benefits of a surround sound system on a pair of headphones? The Turtle Beach Ear Force AK-R8 headphones retails for $150 a pop.
