Apple files new patent for mouse

Apple has just filed a patent that describes a computer mouse possessing a touch-sensitive shell which is capable of accepting multi-touch finger gestures that we have recently seen in the iPhone. This makes the mouse yet another avenue to input commands in a different manner instead of regular clicking that everyone is accustomed to. Filed in March last year, I wonder when will such technology actually surface in the next iteration of an Apple mouse. All I can say is, it is refreshing to see companies try to innovate what everyone has deemed to be “the wheel”. It would be interesting waiting for the final product that uses such technology.
