Darpa, the Pentagon’s research arm, is currently wokring on a software suite that is supposed to predict the outcome of a battle in order to aid battlefield commanders make better decisions under high pressure situations. The program is known as Deep Green, developing alternatives ahead of real time should the situation turn awry. I wonder what the enemies would think about it, and is it possible to fool Deep Green into a surefire lose tactic on their side just to launch a surprise attack to catch the army off-guard? The battlefield is beginning to look more and more like a RTS game (to the commanders at least) as technology progresses. I just wonder whether they’ll ever be able to reach the invincible status of Chinook on the battle front with Deep Green.
