This is the first server product designed by both NEC and Stratus Technologies, boasting a couple of Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors and a 1333MHz front side bus, giving users the advantage of five times the processing power of its single-core predecessors. This fault-tolerant server handles both planned and unplanned downtime immaculately, thanks to a dual modular architecture. A hardware failure will result in the replicated module kicking in, with users not being able to notice the difference. The Fault-Tolerant NEC Express5800/ft will hit stores today in Japan and North America, with Asia Pacific on a later date.
