Hitachi is targeting the smaller and more affordable MP3 player market by announcing the I’m Muse HMP-X5 which is the successor to the previous HMP-G1. The HMP-X5 boasts a blade-like appearance and comes with the bare basics, including a monochrome display, a directional pad for controls, and 2GB of flash memory. Battery life stands at an impressive 16 hours. The Hitachi HMP-X5 will come in black or white colors and will retail at an open price, leaving market forces to dictate just how much this player is worth.
