The HTC Universal is old hat now, as it is known by many other names such as T-Mobile MDA Pro and O2 XDA Exec. When the old goes, the new must come in and the Universal’s replacement is the HTC Omni. This device is powered by a Samsung SC244X 400MHz processor, featuring GSM/GPRS/UMTS/HSDPA in addition to WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. The main 4″ WVGA 800 x 480 display looks stunning, while other features include TV and VGA out, a microSD memory card slot, GPS, and a full QWERTY keyboard for fast and easy messaging. Memory consists of 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM. The HTC Omni is slated for an October release at a yet undisclosed price.
