Maxian has just launched the successor to its T600 portable media player, the L600. This device comes with a 4.3″ WQVGA LCD screen that displays video and images in 480 x 272 pixels resolution, and a choice between 40GB or 80GB hard drives. It isn’t just all play with this though, since the L600 can also hook up with 15 other educational websites that lets you watch video lectures on-the-go. In addition, you can run a couple of tasks simultaneously, such as listening to music while reading an e-book or watching a cartoon, but I find that to be an exercise in futility since you won’t be able to maximize the enjoyment of either activity. Additional functions include Text-to-Speech, real-time TV recording, and an alarm clock. The 40GB and 80GB L600 will retail for $348 and $400 respectively.
