Oppo has unveiled what is said to be the thinnest portable media player in the market so far with the Blast. This device measures slimmer than most svelte cellphones at a mere 6.9mm despite boasting a relatively large LCD display. Features include a touch sensitive keypad as well as support for a wide variety of audio and video formats. There is no word on pricing and availability, although it will be released in China first and foremost. There is no integrated flash memory with this, so that will help drive down the retail price. Content is carried via a microSD memory card slot which is pretty cheap these days. Just make sure you don’t lose them critters as they’re smaller than a normal-sized fingernail. While this won’t kill the iPod nano, at least it offers an alternative.
