Professional photographers will probably see the CFFire800 from SynchroTech as heaven-sent, since it hooks up to your computer via FireWire 800 and usess UDMA Mode 6 (Ultra ATA/133) that helps it achieve read speeds of up to 43MB/s (provided you use the right CF cards, of course). There is no need for any pesky drivers so you can just plug-and-play. Since it runs off bus power, there is also no need to lug around additional external adapters, which is a good thing if you’re on the road most of the time. Various CompactFlash standards are supported, so you’re basically well covered all round when it comes to CF compatibility. The CFFire800 retails for $60 apiece.
