Ambilight technology gets an upgrade

Philips has experienced a certain degree of success with its Ambilight technology, and the company is moving forward by integrating the lighting straight into the frame itself. The naming convention has also changed, and it will be christened “Aurea”. Philips did mention though that “Aurea brings light and color to life in an unparalleled, highly visual and immersive fashion, drawing the audience into the full emotional experience Ambilight offers. Aurea marks a departure from the world of television as we know it today”. So right now all we know is Aurea will be Ambilight that is hooked on steroids.
