Nokia BL-5C battery woes

Nokia has recently issued a product advisory for the BL-5C battery that was manufactured by Matsushita Battery Industrial Company between December 2005 and November 2006 as Nokia found out that that batch of batteries could potentially experience overheating during charging as a result of a short circuit, resulting in the battery dislodging itself from its current position. Approximately 46 million batteries will be affected, with 100 overheating problems reported globally. Thankfully, no serious injuries or property damage have been reported to date. Do check the identification number of your battery with Matsushita just in case you fall under that category. Concerned customers will be able to request for a replacement if they are affected.
