Nokia will be launching both 7500 and 7900 Prism phones in Q3 2007 that could potentially edge out Motorola’s Razr line with their rather sharp designs, but I personally feel that this is one artistic step taken too far. Design wise, both handsets are more or less a hit-or-miss affair with no middle ground. The 7900 comes with diamond shaped buttons on its keypad, where the rear end is set in anodized aluminum. Features include a 16 million color OLED display, dual-band 3G and quad-band GSM capabilities, a 2 megapixel camera, and 1GB of internal memory. The 7500 shares the same diamond theme, albeit in a smaller dimension. The 1GB memory is taken out, replaced by a microSD card slot instead. Both the Nokia 7500 and 7900 will retail for $288 and $549 respectively. Do you love or loathe the design?
