Yahoo! Mail gets SMS function

Yahoo! is currently working on an update to its email client by giving users the functionality of sending text messages to a cellphone for free from Yahoo! Mail. This service is said to work in the US, Canada, India, and Philippines in real-time albeit being restricted to selected carriers only. The recipients of such text messages might have to pay for that though, which doesn’t sound like a hot idea especially when my nemesis floods my inbox with thousands of messages in an attempt to drive me bankrupt.
