
Remember the cellphone projector? Well Texas Instruments has theirs too, and it is nearly ready to be unleashed upon the general populace now after being previewed at a Pepcom event in New York. This prototype unit uses lasers as the light source, as the LED-based model is still kept under wraps at the laboratory so that further improvements can be made. This module would definitely be a great addition to any smartphone, as you can now run your PowerPoint presentations without the need for a notebook. While quality might not be up to par with standard projectors, at least this can be used in smaller settings such as a small group meeting or in a classroom.
