Firefly’s glowPhone R100 has just received the nod of approval from the FCC, so kids will have something to look forward to in the near future (a release before the holiday season rolls around wouldn’t be too much to ask, would it?). It caters specifically to kids, allowing them to just make calls and text messaging with the bare minimum. Heck, the R100 doesn’t even come with Bluetooth connectivity so they’ll have to make do with the standard wired headset solution. Shortcut keys include those that ring up either parental unit in case of an emergency. The glowPhone R100 also features a flashlight mode that turns on all the relevant lights when activated. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time.
