Google won’t take the Microsoft route by buying up Second Life – no sir, it will actually come up with its own version of the famous online “life simulator”. Sounds like another great time waster – I wonder how many hours of productivity has been flushed down the drain when folks get too engrossed with their online avatars in order to escape from the harsh realities of life? According to Google, they are currently testing their own “3D virtual world technology” that will result in a similar Second Life experience. Well, Google has the advantage of incorporating some aspects of google Earth to turn their dream into one big, profitable project. Do you think this will pose a serious threat to Second Life if it was ever released, and will it garner as many users as WoW?
