Halo 3 release shatters records

Well it looked inevitable, and true to form Master Chief delivered where it mattered most. Halo 3 actually surpassed Spider-Man 3 when it comes to the single biggest US entertainment history launch at an estimated $170 million, compared to the webslinger’s $151 million over its opening weekend. Are you one of the millions who picked up a copy of Halo 3, and have you finished the game yet? One thing’s for sure – Xbox Live’s infrastructure couldn’t cope with the hordes of fans who were looking for some multiplayer goodness – hopefully the madness evens itself out over the next few days. Now, the only thing remains to be seen – will this momentum actually keep the Xbox 360 ahead in terms of overall sales compared to the Nintendo Wii that is fast catching up?
