
HP will also hop on the solid state drive (SSD) bandwagon by including that option in its professional series of laptops from next month onwards, citing faster operation times, prolonged battery life and a higher durability as the main reasons to do so. The HP Compaq 2710p, 2510p, 6910p, and 8000 series can be picked up along with a 64GB NAND flash memory drive should your budget permit, as that would add an extra $1,000 to the final retail price. Needless to say, HP expects the price to drop as SSDs gain acceptance in the marketplace and volumes increase.
